Thank you!

The Voksenåsen Summer Academy is over for this year! Thank you to all teachers, students, the hotel and Team Voksenåsen for such inspiring two weeks, filled with music and joy! And also thanks to everyone for keeping to the Corona restrictions. This enabled the Academy to run, slightly changed, but still uninterrupted for a 24th year.

Next year´s teachers will be published during the autumn and the application form is set to open up in December. We are looking forward to 2021!

Passive participation 2020

This year we will be holding a Nordic course, only for students and teachers from the Nordic countries. Instruments have been cancelled and many students will not get the chance to participate. This is all due to the Coronavirus and this year we will not be able to accept any passive participants.

Acceptance letters sent out!

Today we have sent out offers for a spot at the Summer Academy or at the waiting list, to all qualified Nordic students (except students on harp, piano, accordion, and oboe).

We have sent out acceptance letters to students with Nordic (Norwegian, Finnish, Swedish, Danish or Icelandic) address. It is the responsibility of each individual student to check travel restrictions and make sure that you will be able to enter the country. Students quarantine will not be welcome at Voksenåsen. Unfortunately the classes of Piano, harp, oboe, and accordion have been canceled.

Due to measurements and travel restrictions we can only accept students from the Nordic countries for the 2020 course. All non Nordic students have received an email with this information during the last couple of days.

A smaller, Nordic only Summer Academy in 2020

Due to the closed border, current restrictions and measures laid out by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health we have decided to host a smaller Nordic Summer Academy only this year.

All applicants from countries outside the Nordic countries have recieved an e-mail today with the information that we will not be able to offer them a spot at the Summer Academy 2020.

Of course the travel restrictions also affect the teachers. We are working on having the webiste updated with the correct lists of teachers attending in August.

The following classes have been cancelled in August:

  • Piano
  • Oboe
  • Harp
  • Accordion

We are looking into the possibilities of hosting this classes later during the fall.

Letters of acceptance, an offer for a spot on the waiting list, or a message that we will not be able to give you a spot at the Summer Academy 2020, will be sent out shortly, within the next week.

Any questions send us an e-mail at summeracademy@voksenaasen.no

Best regards, stay safe, and hope to see you all back in 2021 for an international Voksenåsen Summer Academy!

Due to the Covid-19 situation, we cannot give the qualified applicants the final decision an acceptance to the Summer Academy until early June. Read more on our Corona measures here.

Hence, we still don’t know how many students we will be able to accept to the Summer Academy 2020.

If you already now know that you will not be able to travel to Norway in August, please let us know as soon as possible.

Information regarding the coronavirus:

August is still a long way down the road, and we do hope that life will be back to normal by then. The work with planning and coordinating the Summer Academy goes on and we are planning to hold the Summer Academy as normal.

If the course needs to be cancelled due to events out of our control, or if students are unable to attend due to sickness or prolonged travel restrictions, we will refund the course fee.
