Mezzo-soprano Randi Stene is one of Scandinavia’s leading opera and concert soloists, and appears on the most important European stages. Since 1989 she has been engaged at the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen. She has a large repertoire, covering both the classical mezzo roles and many new or rarely performed works. She is a visiting professor at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Stene is artistic leader of Summeracademy Voksenåsen Voice.
The Norwegian tenor Magnus Staveland was born in Stavanger. Staveland studied at the State Academy of Music in Oslo and at the Royal Opera Academy in Copenhagen with Susanna Eken. Engagements have brought him to many of the biggest opera houses like Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Florence, Teatro Regio di Torino, Settimana Musicale Senese Siena, Teatro Real Madrid, Staatsoper Berlin, Royal Swedish Opera, Royal Danish Opera and Norwegian National Opera. He is a much sought-after concert singer and regularly appears in concert venues and festivals throughout Europe and Asia. His repertoire includes a vast number of masses, oratorios, symphonies and song cycles. He regularly works with conductors such as Fabio Biondi, Teodor Currentzis, Philippe Herreweghe, René Jacobs, Marc Minkowski and Christophe Rousset.
